East Coast Migrant Head Start

Announce Expansion Plan

Webb City, MO — 11/16/2023 - By Amal Abuqawod

Kid Spark Education, a Missouri-headquartered national leader in hands-on STEM education for children, is excited to announce a transformative partnership with East Coast Migrant Head Start (ECMHS) that will significantly expand access to quality early childhood education in underserved communities.

Kid Spark Education, one of the few organizations in the country focused on STEM education for the youngest learners in BIPOC, rural, and low-income communities, will be joining forces with ECMHS to offer comprehensive, hands-on STEM education programs and teacher training to 15 locations throughout Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina this fall. The programs will be available in Florida at select locations in St. Lucie, Okeechobee, Martin, Palm Beach, Hardee, Polk, and Manatee Counties. Programs will also be at select sites in Mobile County, Alabama, and Duplin County, North Carolina. This initiative builds upon the success of 3 pilot programs launched in the Fall of 2022, with future plans to extend support to 30 more sites in 2023. This collective effort emphasizes our joint dedication to bridging educational disparities and empowering children with the essential skills and opportunities for success in the 21st century. Every Head Start location will receive a comprehensive package to facilitate enjoyable and immersive STEM learning for their students; this includes Kid Spark Labs equipped with engineering components, a curriculum aligned with educational standards, and access to online teacher training, ensuring a seamless implementation of engaging STEM education.

“ECMHSP is extremely excited to have the opportunity to expand STEM into all of our educational campuses.  The partnership with Kid Spark Education will have a long-lasting impact on the growth and development of our teachers and children." - Consuellis Hawkins-Crudup, ECMHSP Director of Early Learning

“We are thrilled about the expanding collaboration with East Coast Migrant Regional Head Start and eagerly anticipate the positive impact this will bring to the multitude of children who will have the opportunity to engage in this program.” - Ryan Neden, Executive Director, Kid Spark Education
